Description

The client is seeking a Head of Private Equity Secondaries to lead and grow its global secondaries investment platform. This role will drive the investment strategy and long-term development of the platform, including market positioning and product direction. The Head will oversee origination, structuring, execution, portfolio management, and investor engagement across the secondaries lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include originating proprietary deal flow through established relationships, overseeing the execution of complex secondaries transactions (such as LP stake sales, GP-led restructurings, continuation vehicles, strip sales, and structured liquidity solutions), and leading exit planning and liquidity strategies to achieve strong outcomes. The role also involves leading transaction structuring and negotiations, ensuring appropriate pricing, governance rights, alignment of interests, and clear exit pathways, as well as managing portfolio construction and risk oversight through diversification frameworks, underwriting standards, and ongoing portfolio monitoring.

The successful candidate will bring extensive experience in private equity secondaries and related advisory or portfolio solutions, with deep expertise across LP-led and GP-led transactions. The role typically requires a proven track record of successful private equity exits and demonstrated capability in structuring, negotiating, and executing liquidity strategies, along with experience leading in a secondaries investment firm or advisory context. A strong network of investors—such as institutional investors, pension funds, insurers, multi-family offices, and other high-net-worth platforms—is expected, together with leadership strengths, including team management and senior stakeholder engagement, plus participation in investment committee processes.
