the client is seeking a Head of Private Equity, Fundraising for India with India and APAC exposure. In this role, you will lead capital raising strategy across India and South Asia, targeting institutional investors such as pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, family offices, and HNIs, with the aim of creating long-term, diversified access to private investment opportunities.
You will own investor relationship management as the primary point of contact for fundraising, reporting, and ongoing engagement, building durable partnerships with key stakeholders. Responsibilities also include translating global private equity strategies into investment propositions suited to Indian investors, driving end-to-end fundraising execution (including roadshows, investor meetings, due diligence coordination, and closing commitments), and using market intelligence to monitor fundraising trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments to identify new capital sources and opportunities.
You will coordinate with internal investment teams, product specialists, legal, and compliance to structure fund offerings and tailor solutions for investors, while ensuring fundraising activities adhere to relevant Indian regulations and global compliance standards. The role further includes regulatory oversight and team leadership—building and mentoring a regional fundraising team and establishing scalable processes—requiring extensive private equity fundraising or institutional alternatives distribution experience, a strong investor network in India, and in-depth knowledge of India-focused regulatory frameworks and market considerations, alongside proven leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
