The client is seeking a Head of Legal to protect the organization from legal risks by ensuring regulatory compliance and acting as a strategic business partner to support growth and the protection of key assets. The role will provide internal legal counsel across areas such as contracting, corporate law, and regulatory compliance, and will support corporate initiatives and possible extraordinary transactions.
Key responsibilities include providing legal support for M&A, acquisitions, and project development, as well as project finance activities and relationships with banks and funds. The position will also support internal departments by identifying legal solutions that enable business objectives to be pursued in line with applicable regulations, including defining contractual terms with customers and suppliers for data center-related activities. The Head of Legal will draft, review, and negotiate legal agreements and assess legal risks and contractual terms to safeguard business interests.
The successful applicant will oversee corporate compliance, privacy and data protection, and contractual aspects of cybersecurity, and will manage disputes, legal actions, and arbitration to minimize risks, working closely with external law firms and legal representatives. The role includes continuous monitoring of legal and regulatory developments in the renewable energy sector and coordinating the legal team, including external counsel. Candidates are expected to have a law degree and substantial experience in head-level or senior legal counsel roles within complex business environments or structured law firms, with strong analytical and risk assessment skills, a pragmatic solution-oriented approach, leadership and collaboration abilities, and excellent negotiation, communication, and priority-management capabilities.
