Description

The client is seeking a Head of HR to build the people infrastructure necessary for an expanding multi-site consumer services business experiencing national growth. This senior HR leadership position requires close partnership with the executive team as the business expands across the UK. The role involves shaping and executing a pragmatic people strategy that aligns commercial priorities with governance while transitioning the HR function from daily management to a scalable, data-driven operation. Responsibilities include organizational design, workforce planning, employee relations, and ensuring effective reward systems and leadership reporting are in place. The goal is to establish HR systems that create consistency across a distributed workforce.

Additional responsibilities include overseeing total reward, payroll, compliance, and designing training and development programs to enhance management capabilities and overall business performance. Essential qualifications include strong employee relations experience and a profound understanding of UK employment law. The ideal candidate will have successfully implemented an HR system (HRIS) and have a history of building or scaling HR frameworks, policies, and processes. The role requires hands-on expertise in managing complex employee relations cases and driving organizational change.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in senior HR leadership roles, such as Head of HR or Senior HR Manager, in a multi-site, operationally led business, including industries like facilities, hospitality, or retail. They should have a proven track record of partnering with senior leadership and influencing at the executive level. Demonstrated success in implementing HR systems, data, reporting, and people metrics is essential for supporting commercial decision-making. Experience overseeing payroll processes and effective collaboration with third-party providers is also required, alongside capabilities in leading organizational change, workforce planning, and organizational design.
