Description

The client is seeking a Head of HR to lead the transition from outsourced HR support to an in-house HR model aligned with organizational values and strategic goals. This pivotal role will shape modern HR operations, policies, and procedures, ensuring alignment with labor law compliance while driving HR initiatives that strengthen culture, employee effectiveness, and overall organizational performance in a dynamic, creative environment.

The Head of HR will establish and lead core HR functions and processes, including employee relations, overtime management, annual performance reviews, and ongoing HR program operations. Responsibilities include staying current on labor laws and regulations and ensuring compliance across all locations where employees work; managing employee benefits administration activities such as 401k processes; renegotiating health benefits and employee perks to support culture and employee needs; and implementing modern HR practices that promote excellence and innovation. The role will also include completing an internal review of HR best practices and legal requirements across relevant states, ensuring required training practices are implemented, and communicating with employees through regular updates.

Qualified candidates are experienced HR professionals with a strategic mindset and hands-on leadership in HR operations, typically within fashion or related creative industries. They should have a strong working knowledge of labor laws, demonstrable experience transitioning HR operations from outsourced to in-house models, and a proven track record negotiating employee medical benefits and managing comprehensive HR programs. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is expected, with a master’s degree or HR-related credential preferred; strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to work independently as a sole contributor, are essential.
