the client is seeking a senior leader to take overall technical and commercial responsibility for grid connection infrastructure, including substations, cable routes, and connection concepts. This role will steer grid and electrical infrastructure projects across planning, permitting, construction, commissioning, and operation, while supporting grid-supportive and system-stabilising operation of renewable assets, including hybrid and multi-technology sites. The position also contributes to strategic scaling of grid infrastructure in line with organizational growth ambitions.
Responsibilities include leading, coaching, and developing a multidisciplinary team of approximately 25 engineers and specialists, and acting as the primary interface toward transmission and distribution system operators, authorities, and external engineering and EPC partners. The role will ensure compliance with relevant technical standards, safety requirements, and regulatory frameworks, and will drive the definition and continuous improvement of standards, processes, and technical concepts for grid infrastructure.
The successful applicant will have a degree in electrical engineering, energy engineering, or a comparable technical discipline, along with several years of senior leadership experience in grid infrastructure, energy systems, renewable development, or comparable environments. They should bring end-to-end experience delivering grid-connected infrastructure projects, strong expertise in substations and grid connection infrastructure and in high- and medium-voltage systems, and a solid background coordinating external engineering and construction partners. Strong knowledge of German grid regulation, standards, and permitting frameworks is required, and qualification or eligibility as GVEFK is required.
