The client is seeking a strategic, hands-on Head of Global Payroll at a VP level. In this role, you will serve as the functional lead for global payroll operations, partnering with the Corporate Accounting team to ensure seamless, compliant, and timely payroll delivery for a sophisticated international workforce.
This hybrid role is based in New York, with in-office expectations of four days per week. You will lead the end-to-end payroll lifecycle across international regions, ensuring adherence to regional tax laws, labor regulations, and statutory filing requirements, while also driving payroll accounting activities such as monthly reconciliations and reporting in collaboration with Corporate Accounting and Finance.
Key responsibilities include optimizing global payroll systems and implementing automation to improve scalability and accuracy, managing relationships with international payroll service providers and third-party vendors, and overseeing payroll-related compliance and audits. You are expected to have 10+ years of progressive payroll experience with demonstrated global leadership, deep knowledge of international taxation, social insurance contributions, and global labor compliance, and advanced proficiency with payroll platforms (including Workday and ADP). A bachelor’s degree in a related field is expected, and CPP certification or a global payroll management certificate is highly desirable, along with a track record of leading large-scale payroll system implementations and transformations.
