The client is seeking a director-level hire for a gas digitalization team, focused on delivering end-to-end digital search and solutions for participants in global commodities markets. The role will work closely with trading and investment stakeholders to support a digitalization agenda that aligns with broader corporate strategy and helps teams perform effectively in a volatile market environment.
Key responsibilities include leading and managing a digitalization team, driving the team’s digitalization priorities in collaboration with traders, portfolio managers, and other stakeholders, and developing and executing team strategies that support corporate goals. The position is also expected to grow the business by identifying, proposing, and approving profitable opportunities, and to lead a systematic and quantitative approach with accountability for team performance, development, and delivery, while staying informed about market trends to support profit maximization.
The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of international gas trading fundamentals, a strong analytical mindset, and the ability to navigate gas markets effectively. The role requires demonstrated experience setting strategic direction and attention to numerical accuracy, along with strong English communication skills. Relevant leadership experience in the energy trading industry (at least 3+ years) is expected, and the hire will report to the Head of European Gas Trading.
