Head of Finance is required on a permanent basis to lead group reporting and audit for a FTSE-listed business. The role ensures the integrity of group financials and delivers high-quality statutory and management reporting in line with IFRS, with a commercially minded, confident approach at the heart of the organization. You will lead the group accounting team and oversee Property Finance, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable, serving as the key contact for monthly close, external reporting, and group-wide accounting matters.
Key responsibilities include owning the consolidation process across the group; reviewing and supporting team preparation of monthly consolidated income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting under IFRS; and managing balance sheet reconciliations with monitoring and reporting on completion. You will lead continual improvements to the group reporting process, including setting preparation requirements for group reporting packs and coordinating timely submissions from relevant store teams, while maintaining overall ownership of the month-end close process. You will also maintain relationships with external auditors for half-year and year-end audits, support internal and external audit activities, and prepare and review primary group consolidated financial statements for statutory compliance with IFRS.
The role also includes producing group cash flow forecasts and balance sheet forecasts, analyzing historic cash movements versus forecast, and managing overall accounts payable and accounts receivable functions with a focus on operational efficiency. You will lead and oversee direct reports across the Group Accounting team and the Property Finance, AR, and Property Finance management functions, ensuring objectives are set and teams are appropriately managing, developing, and engaged. Requirements include being ACA qualified, having significant IFRS experience with practical application, strong communication skills, and experience delivering accounting and finance updates to diverse stakeholders, along with experience implementing process change and control improvements and leading large reporting and control teams.
