The client is conducting a confidential search for a key leadership appointment: Head of Engineering. This role carries full responsibility for the engineering function across multiple manufacturing sites, with a central focus on shaping engineering strategy, driving operational excellence, and supporting continued business growth and development.
The successful candidate will lead all aspects of the engineering function, including team leadership, budget management, strategic planning, and continuous improvement. Working closely with operational colleagues, you will ensure engineering capabilities align with business objectives across quality, cost, delivery, efficiency, and customer service, while also contributing to wider business strategy and annual planning processes.
Key responsibilities include developing and implementing engineering strategy, policies, and best practices; driving engineering excellence and continuous improvement; ensuring engineering processes and systems support operational performance and business goals; coaching and developing the engineering team; identifying risks and opportunities and implementing solutions to improve capability and performance; and maintaining strong Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality compliance. The candidate should be an experienced engineering leader with a proven track record in fast-paced manufacturing, strong operational and strategic capability, demonstrated success leading and developing teams, and effective communication and stakeholder management skills; experience in food manufacturing or related consumer goods environments may be advantageous.
