You will own the engineering function end to end, bringing structure, consistency, and leadership to a capable technical team while collaborating closely with executive leadership on long-term technical direction.
The role involves leading senior engineers across backend, platform, full stack, and data disciplines, acting as the primary engineering leader so broader technology leadership can focus on data science and machine learning innovation. You will set clear standards for engineering best practices, architecture, delivery, and technical decision-making, coordinating multiple workstreams to ensure projects are well planned, aligned, and delivered effectively. You will stay engaged in technical design and architecture—providing guidance and challenge—while partnering with product, data science, and client-facing teams to support a robust, scalable platform delivering real customer value.
You will be expected to bring strong commercial experience leading engineering teams in product-led or platform-based technology businesses, with a background in backend or full stack engineering and a solid architectural perspective. The position calls for experience managing and mentoring senior engineers and the credibility to lead technical specialists, along with the ability to introduce structure, standards, and consistency as teams scale. You should be comfortable operating in a startup or scale-up environment with evolving priorities and ambiguity, and be a confident communicator working effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a remote-first setting.
