The client is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead the engineering strategy in the renewable energy sector. This strategic role involves setting standards and overseeing technical execution across projects, ensuring consistency in quality, compliance, and efficiency throughout all project phases. The candidate will define engineering specifications and documentation, evaluate alternatives to optimize capital and operational expenditures, and supervise construction and equipment installation while ensuring regulatory compliance.
The role includes coordinating with EPCs, external engineering firms, suppliers, and contractors to track timelines, costs, and risks, as well as leading commissioning and performance testing. This position requires innovation and continuous improvement through pilots and testing emerging technologies, and staying current with regulatory and certification standards. Candidates should have a degree in Industrial, Chemical, Energy, or Mechanical Engineering, with a Master's degree in renewables or project management being advantageous, along with 12+ years of experience in process engineering, industrial plants, or renewable energy.
The ideal candidate will have experience as a head of engineering or a similar role within utilities, EPCs, construction, or water/recycling industries. They should possess technical competencies in process design, equipment sizing, and adherence to industrial regulations, as well as expertise in project management, EPC, and commissioning.
