The head of department will lead and oversee professional education for the veterinary clinical sciences department and ensure effective management of research and teaching activities. The role includes providing clinical services through the client’s veterinary medical and diagnostic facilities and fostering a collaborative environment that supports innovation and high-quality outcomes. Leadership responsibilities also include steering the department’s mission and vision in line with the client’s strategic direction.
Successful candidates will hold a PhD and a veterinary qualification recognized for registration as a veterinary surgeon in Hong Kong, which may include a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc), or an equivalent qualification. Board certification in a relevant discipline enabling registration as a veterinary specialist in Hong Kong is required, such as European, Australian/New Zealand, American, or equivalent boards. The client expects a distinguished record of research, teaching, and scholarship, substantial experience in tertiary education, strong management effectiveness, and a demonstrated commitment to teamwork and effective communication to build and nurture internal and external relationships.
