the client invites applications for the position of Head of Department of Communication at the rank of Professor, Distinguished Professor, or Chair Professor. the role is to lead an academic department within a faculty setting and to provide overall academic leadership for undergraduate and graduate programmes in communication. english is expected to be the working language and primary medium of instruction.
the department offers programmes at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including bachelor’s and master’s programmes in communication and new media, as well as a phd in communication studies. teaching and research activities cover a range of communication areas such as media studies, journalism, public relations, marketing, digital journalism, and creative media, supported by research expertise spanning media and journalism, public communication, qualitative and quantitative media analysis, cultural studies, and intercultural communication.
the client seeks an internationally accomplished scholar with a strong research profile, a distinguished record of academic achievements, exceptional leadership and management skills, and strategic vision. the successful candidate is expected to hold a phd degree in communication, mass communication, media studies, or a related field, and to have expertise in one or more relevant sub-disciplines such as research methodology, journalism, advertising, public relations, new media, and/or international or intercultural communication. they should also demonstrate an outstanding record of internationally recognized research and scholarship and a proven record of excellent teaching.
