This senior role leads the definition and ownership of the company-wide data strategy within a fast-growing, product-led technology business. You will bring structure to a previously fragmented data landscape, establish a scalable and well-governed data platform, and build a data function with real autonomy. Following recent organizational change, the position is focused on unifying data across the business to support more consistent, strategic use of data at all levels.
You will own and evolve the data environment, driving improvements in data quality, consistency, and architecture across multiple sources. Responsibilities include reviewing and developing the existing data technology stack, designing and maintaining data pipelines for ingestion and transformation to enable analytics and reporting, and managing and mentoring a small team of data engineers with potential for growth. You will also collaborate closely with BI, product, and other stakeholders, and serve as a thought leader to influence how teams use data effectively.
The role is suited to candidates with a strong background in data engineering and experience owning data platforms in complex, multi-source environments. You should have hands-on experience with cloud-based data stacks, including AWS, SQL, and BI tools, as well as confidence managing stakeholders across technical and non-technical teams. Previous management or mentoring experience is preferred, and experience with semantic layers or AI-led data accessibility tools is advantageous; you will also help shape the organization’s practical internal approach to AI in relation to improving data accessibility.
