As Head of Data Strategy & Governance, you will provide senior leadership to define and embed how data is governed, trusted, and scaled across a fast-growing, technology-led financial services business. With data central to decision-making, you will shape long-term data strategy, address complex data quality challenges, and build an operating model that supports sustained growth. The role involves collaborating with technology, product, and senior stakeholders to ensure data quality underpins insights and client outcomes.
Key responsibilities include defining and delivering the data strategy, operating model, and governance framework; establishing clear data ownership, standards, and accountability in a federated environment; and leading data quality initiatives across multiple data sources. You will build and maintain a “single source of truth,” including data dictionaries and master data approaches, and provide oversight of the data platform to support scalability and reliability within a cloud-based environment. You will also provide strategic guidance for business intelligence and analytics by partnering with teams to enable trusted reporting.
You will manage and develop a multi-disciplinary data team spanning operations, governance, and BI, bringing a pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset to lead change in a scaling organization. The role typically requires strong commercial experience in data strategy, data governance, and operating model design, along with a deep understanding of data quality management, controls, and frameworks. Experience with modern cloud data platforms is expected, as is the ability to communicate complex data and governance concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders; a background in regulated or data-intensive environments may be beneficial.
