The client is seeking a Head of Compliance to serve as a strategic partner and content expert to the Chief Executive Officer and to be a critical member of the executive leadership team. In this role, the Head of Compliance provides enterprise-wide compliance leadership and ethical stewardship to support the organization’s long-term integrity and mission success. Responsibilities span regulatory adherence, risk management, privacy and data security, billing integrity, and organizational ethics.
The Head of Compliance oversees quality management and leads staff in developing timely plans to address compliance issues, while directing accreditation and quality assurance and improvement activities. The role is expected to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, accreditation standards, and funding requirements across a diverse payer and program environment. Core responsibilities also include leading mission-driven, proactive risk identification; promoting staff education and organizational accountability; and establishing and enforcing compliance policies and procedures across programs and departments.
Key duties include partnering with the executive team to develop and execute a comprehensive compliance strategy; acting as a liaison to regulatory agencies, accreditation bodies, oversight entities, and related stakeholders; and maintaining expertise in behavioral health, disability services, substance use disorder and mental health treatment, and Medicaid/Medicare compliance within a dual-state environment. The Head of Compliance will also translate policy and regulatory actions into clear workforce guidance, provide consultative support to cybersecurity as needed for policy development and regulatory alignment, recommend when legal counsel should be consulted, lead compliance and quality management committees, conduct compliance risk assessments, oversee internal audits and investigations with corrective action tracking, coordinate responses to external reviews, and oversee compliance monitoring and quality improvement planning, including accreditation readiness.
