The client is seeking a Head of Communications to develop and execute a global communications strategy that enhances reputation, strengthens stakeholder engagement, and supports business objectives. As the organization grows its international presence and advances projects across multiple jurisdictions, this role is expected to help build a coordinated communications function aligning corporate, regional, and project-level efforts. The role reports to the Director of Investor Relationships and supervises a Communications Specialist.
The Head of Communications will support external communications by helping develop the corporate external communications strategy and leading implementation of integrated annual communications plans to strengthen brand and reputation. Responsibilities include drafting corporate news releases, scripts, key messages, FAQs, and stakeholder responses, as well as identifying and assessing emerging, current, and future issues that could affect brand and reputation. The role will also develop and execute a media relations strategy aimed at increasing awareness with Canadian and international media, and will build relationships with key media contacts.
The position will manage stakeholder messaging and issues management, coordinating closely with internal stakeholders and global communications teams to respond to media inquiries with consistent tone and messaging. Additional scope includes leadership communications, internal communications, brand awareness across communications channels, and supporting disciplined, safety-focused engagement through leadership accountability and frontline participation in safety practices.
