Description

The client is seeking a visionary Head of Commercial to lead their business operations in Italy. This pivotal role involves defining and implementing national objectives in alignment with the Business Unit strategy to ensure sustainable growth and achievement of business targets in the short and medium term. As the Head of Commercial, you will oversee the establishment and execution of these objectives in collaboration with the Managing Director, Department Heads, and HR Business Partner.

The responsibilities of this role include steering the horticultural business in Italy towards its goals, coordinating a team dedicated to exploring new opportunities, and designing go-to-market strategies for current and future growth. You will monitor sales performance and profitability, ensure compliance with local regulations concerning taxation, labor, safety, and the environment, and coordinate legal and insurance activities to maintain operations within the bounds of existing laws. Additionally, you will liaise between functional departments within Italy to optimize the functional structure and alignment with the broader Business Unit divisions.

Ideal candidates will have international experience in the horticultural seed industry, with strong communication, managerial, and interpersonal skills. The ability to lead and manage business operations across product, sales, logistics, and financial domains is essential. Candidates should possess a pragmatic approach to problem-solving, a curiosity and orientation towards collaborative solution-finding, entrepreneurial spirit, strategic thinking, and an eagerness to tackle new challenges for business growth. Proficiency in both English and Italian is required.
