The client is seeking a Head of Commercial Financial Planning & Control to provide senior commercial finance leadership within its UK operation. reporting directly to the UK CFO, this role serves as a key leadership position and the primary commercial finance partner to the UK executive team, combining ownership of commercial financial planning and performance with hands-on responsibility for operational finance improvements. The client is focused on building and scaling its commercial performance through enhanced forecasting accuracy, operational controls, and management information to support ongoing growth.

the Head of Commercial Financial Planning & Control will lead a medium-sized finance team and take ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning across a consulting operation. responsibilities include improving revenue visibility and commercial decision-making, providing insight into project profitability, utilisation, resource deployment, and margin performance, and strengthening management information, reporting capability, and financial controls. the role also covers operational finance activities in a project-based environment, including revenue recognition, project accounting, and engagement profitability analysis, while partnering with the wider international finance organisation to improve consistency and reporting standards.

The client is looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with commercial finance, FP&A, or finance leadership experience in consulting, professional services, technology services, or other project-based environments. candidates should have strong forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning experience, a track record of improving processes and management reporting, and the ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders on financial performance and business decisions. advanced Excel and financial modelling capability, comfort in a hands-on environment where finance processes are still developing, and strong communication and business partnering skills are required; prior audit training, experience in consulting/professional services of meaningful scale, and exposure to transformation or turnaround programmes are viewed as desirable.
