the client is seeking an experienced Head of Business Development Civil Construction to lead strategic growth within an expanding construction and field services division. In this senior leadership role, you will strengthen client relationships and expand market presence across public and private sector projects, supporting long-term construction strategy and market expansion. The position is focused on driving business development outcomes in a hybrid environment and representing the organization at industry events, conferences, and relevant trade forums.

You will lead business development and growth initiatives, building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors. Responsibilities include supporting proposals, estimating, and project pursuit strategies, providing executive oversight for construction and field services projects, and reviewing budgets, forecasting, and overall project financial performance. You will also ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and contractual requirements, and mentor and develop project and field teams while collaborating with executive leadership to execute growth plans.

The client is looking for a seasoned construction professional with 20+ years of experience in construction, civil, environmental, or related fields, along with senior leadership experience in construction management or professional services. You should have a proven track record in driving business growth and securing repeat client work, along with strong knowledge of public and private sector delivery methods. The role requires excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, a Bachelor’s degree preferred in a related discipline, and preference for a Professional Engineer California License; a valid California Driver’s License is required.
