Description

The client is seeking a Head of Amazon Performance Advertising and AI Automation to own paid media performance on Amazon and drive profitable revenue growth and efficiency. This role will define and execute Amazon advertising strategy, manage advertising spend, and build an AI-enabled optimization approach designed to improve speed and decision quality across a large catalog of SKUs. Performance success will be guided by disciplined KPI management and the effective transition of key performance capabilities from external agencies to an internal operating model.

Key responsibilities include owning campaign strategy and execution across Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, and Sponsored Display, with a focus on ROAS and contribution margin discipline. The role will manage and dynamically optimize a significant advertising budget by reallocating spend based on performance signals and business priorities, while designing an AI-enabled optimization framework covering areas such as bidding, targeting, budget allocation, experimentation cadence, and performance monitoring. The leader will build dashboards, analytics, and reporting to provide clear visibility into performance drivers by SKU, category, and campaign type.

The position also includes leading the move away from agency dependency through knowledge capture, process definition, and controlled handover of programs and playbooks, as well as partnering cross-functionally with internal teams such as pricing, promotions, product, and creative. The leader will establish test-and-learn rigor using structured experimentation and rapid iteration to identify scalable growth levers, and will build and manage a support model over time with defined SOPs and quality controls. Required qualifications include owning Amazon Ads PPC performance in a high-volume environment with measurable outcomes, strong command of performance marketing metrics and levers, and demonstrated ability to use automation and data tooling to scale decision-making, along with comfort leveraging modern AI tools and operating effectively across stakeholders.
