Description

The client is recruiting new board members to begin their term in January 2027. The role is intended for individuals who live in the Pittsburgh region and can commit to a three-year term with an opportunity to extend for an additional three years, for up to six years total. Board members are expected to participate in five in-person board meetings each year, with each meeting lasting approximately two hours.

In addition to board meetings, board members will serve on at least one committee, typically requiring one hour of monthly committee meeting time, with preference for service on the Finance or Governance committee. The role also includes participation in one board and staff retreat of approximately four hours. Board members are expected to volunteer and/or attend at least two organizational events.

Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to good governance and bring relevant experience in board service or nonprofit management. Skills and expertise sought include finance, fundraising, design thinking and evaluation, and IT/technology expertise. Board members should also be comfortable supporting the organization’s mission through fundraising and promotion of its events, including providing financial support at a level that is meaningful to them.
