Group Vice President, Operations. The client is seeking an accomplished construction executive to lead a significant portfolio of operating businesses during a period of continued growth and operational evolution. This is a highly visible executive role focused on translating strategy into results, improving profitability, developing exceptional leaders, and scaling complex operations while preserving an entrepreneurial mindset. The role includes executive-level ownership of a substantial, multi-location operating portfolio with meaningful influence over growth strategy and financial performance.
Key responsibilities include directing construction operations with accountability for financial performance, execution, leadership effectiveness, and sustainable growth. The role will translate enterprise priorities into actionable operating plans, measurable objectives, and clear accountability across business units and locations. It will strengthen financial and operational performance through disciplined forecasting, resource planning, profitability management, and ongoing evaluation of business results, while partnering with business leaders to improve project execution, productivity, margins, and return on resources.
The successful candidate will develop and mentor senior leaders, strengthen succession planning and organizational depth, and support employee engagement and retention. They will use operational data and business insights to identify performance opportunities, improve processes, and establish scalable practices. Additional expectations include collaborating with executive and commercial stakeholders to evaluate expansion opportunities, new markets, and strategic investments, and championing a high-performance culture centered on accountability, collaboration, safety, quality, risk management, and continuous improvement. Qualifications include 10+ years of progressive operations leadership with multi-unit revenue responsibility and demonstrated full P&L leadership success in construction, with commercial electrical contracting experience strongly preferred. Strong financial acumen, strategic planning and execution, people development, and analytical, decision-making, communication, and relationship-building skills are required, along with the ability to travel regularly.
