This role is a high-impact Group Head of Tax position within a global financial services organization. The client seeks a leader to develop and drive a forward-looking Group Tax strategy that aligns with business priorities, regulatory expectations, and risk appetite, while strengthening the organization’s global tax framework across multiple international markets and tax domains.
The Group Head of Tax will provide comprehensive oversight of the global tax position, covering corporate, indirect, and cross-border taxation across multiple jurisdictions. Responsibilities include establishing a proactive tax risk management framework; leading group-wide tax compliance, reporting, and accounting processes to ensure accuracy and consistency; and serving as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on strategic initiatives such as business expansions, restructurings, M&A, and capital optimization projects.
The position will also oversee relationships with tax authorities, external auditors, and external advisors, managing audits, disputes, and rulings professionally. The successful applicant will bring deep international tax expertise, strong tax governance and controversy management capability, proven stakeholder influence at executive level, and leadership experience building and developing a high-performing tax function. Fluency in English is required, with additional language skills such as French or Dutch as a plus, along with advanced academic study in a relevant discipline like tax law, finance, or economics.
