Description

The client is seeking a Group Controller to join their private equity-backed home services platform in the Southeast US. This role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and involves close collaboration with the Board of Directors. The Group Controller will lead consolidated financial reporting, oversee accounting operations, and facilitate the integration of acquired entities. This role entails managing the financial reporting of the parent company and its subsidiaries, handling activities such as consolidated financials, the accounting close process, and cash management. Additionally, the Group Controller is responsible for developing internal controls and supporting the onboarding and integration of newly acquired businesses.

Key responsibilities include managing the monthly and quarterly close processes for multiple subsidiaries and preparing consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP. The Group Controller will oversee general ledger activities, payroll, accounts payable and receivable, and banking functions. This position is also tasked with developing and maintaining internal controls, coordinating annual audits, managing tax preparation, and supporting due diligence and post-close integration of acquired businesses. Further, the role involves improving financial systems and processes, recommending scalable accounting solutions, and possibly implementing an ERP system for multi-entity management.

Candidates should have over eight years of progressive accounting and finance experience, ideally within a fast-paced, acquisitive environment. Experience with multi-entity consolidations, mergers and acquisitions, and working in a leveraged environment is necessary. A strong understanding of GAAP and experience in a recurring revenue business is preferred. The role requires excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks and Sage Intacct, and familiarity with field service software. A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, CPA certification, and the ability to travel up to 30% are required.
