the client is seeking an experienced Group Chief Accounting Officer to lead end-to-end accounting and finance operations at group level within an international services and energy sector organization. This role is expected to drive real business impact during a period of intensive growth and operational change, combining strategic thinking with the ability to organize, streamline, and build effective accounting and finance processes. The position will coordinate and oversee the maintenance of accounting records across group entities, including Poland and selected foreign markets.
The role will take full responsibility for all accounting processes, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, fixed assets, payments, taxes, and financial reporting. It will also manage external reporting to relevant authorities and stakeholders, oversee tax settlement accuracy and the preparation process for tax returns, and provide governance over internal controls and financial risk management.
Key priorities include building and developing accounting processes and systems, supporting the digitalization of the finance and accounting function (such as ERP implementations, document workflows, and reporting and consolidation tools), and leading and developing the accounting team. The Group Chief Accounting Officer will partner with the CFO and FP&A, Treasury, investor relations, and IT teams, collaborate with auditors and tax advisers and other external institutions, and oversee payroll processes delivered by an external provider. The client is looking for a minimum of 10 years of relevant accounting experience, including leadership experience in complex group environments, strong knowledge of Polish accounting regulations, MSSF/IFRS and tax topics, practical experience with standalone and consolidated reporting, demonstrated experience in transformation projects (process improvements and digital/ERP initiatives), and advanced analytical and leadership skills, with very good English proficiency; prior experience in reporting-focused or capital market environments is a plus.
