St. Francis Xavier University (StFX) is looking for a visionary and dynamic leader to become the next Dean of Arts. This role involves providing strategic, academic, and administrative leadership to the Faculty, supporting liberal arts education at one of Canada's top undergraduate universities. The Dean will champion equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility (EDIA), as well as community engagement, and contribute to the implementation of StFX's strategic plan. Responsibilities include developing a compelling academic vision for the Faculty of Arts, promoting excellence in teaching and research, providing oversight of budgets and staffing, and building relationships with internal and external partners.The Dean of Arts will support faculty development, advocate for the central role of arts education in the university and broader society, and ensure that EDIA principles are embedded in academic and administrative practices. They will also be responsible for fostering academic excellence, supporting faculty development, and promoting collegial governance. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the arts, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion.
