The client is seeking a Global Procurement Director to lead global sourcing, procurement, purchasing, and vendor management with the goal of improving service performance and quality. This role provides strategic direction for procurement operations across regions, partnering with business units to support efficient supplier sourcing and contracting and to help ensure execution of effective procurement outcomes.
Key responsibilities include developing and driving global sourcing and procurement and planning goals, leading procurement transformation initiatives, and measuring performance through key performance indicators. The director will identify root causes of inefficiencies and implement timely countermeasures and lasting process improvements, while also addressing domestic and regional-specific supplier requirements. The role serves as the primary negotiator and contract reviewer across sourcing activities, directing spend across relevant categories, ensuring adherence to global and regional policies and contracts, and optimizing supplier relationships by managing contract terms and pricing and defining buying channels.
Additional responsibilities include supporting business stakeholders in creating and communicating savings targets, engaging with owners and users to address performance issues and risk events, and developing reporting and data analysis tied to sales and operations activities and the value delivered to business units. The role requires a bachelor’s degree, preferably in supply chain, engineering, or finance, with an advanced degree potentially preferred, and extensive experience in sourcing and procurement with global scope. The client expects strong project management and experience in new product development, executive-level presentation skills with complex financial analytics, high-level stakeholder influence, advanced problem-solving and negotiation capabilities, and demonstrated experience in procurement process improvement and supplier contract best practices.
