the client is seeking a highly curious, versatile generalist to help shape organizational strategy. the role will contribute to the client’s democracy-focused work while also helping design, test, and support emerging initiatives such as funder collaboratives and other experimental approaches to driving impact. the ideal candidate brings strong analytical thinking, comfort with ambiguity, and a desire to learn by doing, with energy for working closely with grantee partners and contributing wherever needed to advance the mission.
key responsibilities include contributing to democracy strategy through research, synthesis, and strategic insight; tracking relevant developments and translating learnings into actionable guidance; and supporting cross-portfolio learning agendas that inform grantmaking and emerging initiatives. the role will also help design, launch, and support emerging initiatives; engage with grantee partners on opportunities to drive impact beyond capital, including collaboration and experimentation; support sourcing and stewardship with an emphasis on trust-based relationships; and assist in identifying opportunities to deploy flexible capital (such as C4) where advocacy, field-building, or narrative work can advance strategic objectives, while working closely across teams with senior leadership.
