The client is seeking a General Manager in Nova Scotia to serve as a key strategic and operational partner to the President. This senior role is the highest-ranking position in the organization outside of the President and will help shape the future of a growing real estate portfolio in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment. The General Manager will lead across property management, administration, financial oversight, organizational development, and operational excellence while supporting continued expansion.
Reporting to the President, the General Manager will provide structure, accountability, and forward-thinking leadership by ensuring the right people, systems, and processes are in place for the next phase of growth. Acting as a trusted advisor and extension of the President, the role will lead day-to-day business operations, oversee key managers and external partners, and drive initiatives that improve efficiency, profitability, and scalability. The General Manager will also partner on succession planning, workforce planning, and talent development, fostering a culture focused on responsiveness, professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include providing overall leadership and day-to-day operational management; leading, coaching, mentoring, and developing managers and staff across multiple functional areas; setting performance expectations and operational priorities; and evaluating organizational structure to support future growth. The role will oversee property management activities such as lease-up, tenant experience, operational performance, and portfolio growth, including monitoring occupancy, leasing performance, rental strategies, and relevant operational metrics. The General Manager will also manage financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and performance measurement, working with bookkeeping and external advisors to support effective business management and informed operational and development decisions.
