The client is hiring a General Manager for a luxury department store chain. The role is responsible for crafting, leading, and delivering approved location-specific strategies that align with the execution and achievement of company targets, strategic goals, and key initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a senior retail sales and distribution leader with an entrepreneurial mindset and strong experience managing large-volume retail operations, typically including multi-store environments such as national chain, district, and flagship formats. The position is expected to demonstrate strong leadership across a culturally diverse, international setting, with excellent organization and prioritization, strong presentation and communication skills, and the ability to solve problems effectively.
Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree (with an MBA as a plus) and 7 to 10 years of retail management experience focused on luxury and/or consumer goods categories. Candidates should have experience in multi-store management and strong working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel, and be comfortable working independently and during weekends or outside regular hours if required. Mandarin proficiency is a plus, and relevant prior leadership experience at similar retail organizations—such as General Manager, Assistant General Manager, Boutique Director, Store Director, District Manager, or Regional Manager—may be considered.
