Description

We are seeking a strong General Manager to redevelop distribution strategy while growing sales across two newly opened retail locations and expanding national and export channels. The client is a well-funded, family-owned niche fragrance brand with an existing product line, and this role will help drive overall operating performance and achievement of financial goals. Responsibilities include redefining end-to-end distribution across retail and wholesale, supporting retail and professional growth, and identifying and leading new business opportunities.

The General Manager will communicate company strategy to the board of directors, oversee revenue generation, and preside over day-to-day operations to ensure policies and procedures are followed across departments. Key duties include preparing budgets and business plans, analyzing financial reports, monitoring performance against departmental and organizational objectives, and providing timely reporting to keep leadership informed on the organization’s condition and major factors affecting results. This role also includes working with the audit committee to support budgeting and ensuring highly productive relationships and partnerships that benefit the organization.

The ideal candidate will be a senior executive with a proven track record in developing niche fragrance brands globally, or with strong fragrance knowledge and extensive experience in highly selective luxury distribution. Global experience managing international teams is expected, along with strong leadership skills and an ability to synthesize regional needs for compelling brand execution across international regions. Typical expectations include building and developing management talent, aligning regional leadership with global sales and marketing direction, supporting resource allocation with Finance, strengthening supply chain and operational processes for long-term growth, and helping design a consistent retail customer experience through education, events, and service and merchandising models.
