The General Manager Maori Strategy and Partnerships role at Central Districts Water involves leading the organization's partnership with tangata whenua and incorporating te ao Maori perspectives into decision-making processes. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive and sitting on the Executive Leadership Team, the role focuses on designing and delivering strategies that align with Maori values and aspirations. In the first 12-18 months, the successful candidate will define the necessary capabilities for CDW, establish an operating model, and advocate for the resources needed to sustain this approach.As the primary executive contact for Nga Tapuwae o Hau and various iwi and hapu in the region, the General Manager will ensure that Maori rights, interests, and aspirations are integrated into all aspects of CDW's operations. This includes influencing strategy development, investment decisions, consenting processes, catchment planning, and day-to-day activities. Additionally, the role involves advising the Chief Executive and Board on Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations, as well as engaging with Te Puni Kokiri, Taumata Arowai, and regional government entities to ensure alignment with Maori principles and values.
