The client is an impact-driven, vertically integrated livestock and beef company operating across the full value chain, from ethical livestock sourcing and climate-smart feedlot finishing to processing, retail, and planned export growth. The organization is transitioning from a founder-led enterprise into a professionalised, data-driven, investor-ready institution. This appointment is intended to support operational professionalisation and scale the business toward approximately 34,000 heads annually over a 10-year period within a blended-finance growth approach.
The General Manager will translate the Board’s strategic vision into operational execution, lead the senior leadership team, and own the consolidated P&L. The role is expected to drive capital raising and investor engagement, ensure operational excellence, compliance, and strong ESG performance, and embed ERP-driven decision making, performance management, and governance across the business. The position will chair executive leadership forums, review performance dashboards, resolve cross-functional issues, and make resource allocation decisions, while overseeing the transition to delegation, documented processes, and capture of institutional knowledge.
Key responsibilities include setting and enforcing company-wide KPIs cascading from Board-approved strategy through head- and manager-level objectives to individual performance. Through accountable leadership of operations, finance, and other functional heads, the role will support value-chain performance targets across sourcing volumes and pricing, feedlot outcomes, fodder production cost and feed security, processing efficiency and compliance, and commercial revenue generation. Financial and institutional oversight will cover timely management accounts, accounting compliance, audit readiness, internal controls, ERP financial integrity, working capital and tax compliance, and alignment of HR systems and IT infrastructure, with intervention when cross-functional issues require GM authority or when performance materially deviates from plan.
