The client is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead a full-time position at a veterinary emergency and referral hospital in Halifax. The role is responsible for driving hospital processes and practices that make the workplace welcoming, profitable, energizing, and rewarding, while supporting high-quality care for pets and the people who love them.
The General Manager will oversee administrative and operational functions, strategic planning, and team and professional development. Responsibilities include revenue growth and cost management with a focus on labor and cost of sales, KPI management, implementation of operational SOPs and best practices, annual business planning with monthly analysis and reporting, and business strategy development and execution.
The role also includes strengthening client and patient care alongside compliance, supporting accreditation and certification-related medical SOPs, and managing key people operations such as hiring, onboarding, training, performance reviews, conflict resolution, and HR scenarios. The General Manager will cultivate a positive, inspirational workplace culture, coach department leads, maintain organizational visibility, support continuing education and mentorship for medical teams, and help expand clinical services and service offerings.
