Description

the client is seeking a General Manager to lead and scale operations with a strong focus on safety, operational excellence, and financial and commercial discipline while preserving an entrepreneurial culture. This is a hands-on executive role for an experienced operator who is expected to truly own outcomes and drive performance. The role reports directly to the Founder and Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Directors.

The General Manager will lead by example to ensure safety is visible, actionable, and embedded into decisions from the field to the executive office. Guided by a “no task is so critical that proper time can’t be taken to accomplish it safely” philosophy, the position will ensure effective safety practices and hands-on engagement so team members return home safely each day. The General Manager will manage multiple aggregate operations, oversee day-to-day activities, and build and mentor a high-performing operations team, translating strategic objectives into operational plans and aligning manpower and equipment resources to achieve production targets safely, efficiently, and profitably.

Financial, commercial, and asset management are central responsibilities. Working closely with the CEO, the General Manager will provide accurate operational data to support regular reporting and strategic planning, support project bidding, pricing, and estimating to ensure competitive and achievable work aligned with margin and risk expectations, and ensure projects are delivered within agreed scope, schedule, and cost parameters. The role will also manage equipment maintenance strategies, repair versus replacement decisions, and capital planning, while overseeing client invoicing, supporting collections, and reinforcing cash flow and cost discipline; success will depend on understanding cost drivers, productivity levers, and return on capital, including the key challenge of scaling operations without losing the established culture.
