The General Manager is responsible for overall operational leadership, strategic direction, and event delivery at the largest convention center in North America. Reporting directly to the chief executive officer of the metropolitan pier and exposition authority, the General Manager oversees core event operational functions including Event Operations, Event Management, Guest Services, and Technology Services, ensuring seamless coordination and high-quality experiences for large-scale gatherings.
As a senior operational leader, the General Manager partners closely with the chief executive officer and collaborates with the chief operating officer, chief of security, sales leadership, and other shared service functions to support exceptional customer service, world-class event execution, strong labor partnerships, and measurable economic impact. The role emphasizes decision-making, cross-functional coordination, and continuous leadership to ensure consistent performance across the event calendar.
