The client General Manager will oversee all Sales, Marketing, and Operations activities within the Romania Sales & Logistic branch, with full P&L responsibility. The role focuses on business strategy and channel development across the country, partnering with a customer base that includes large and international retailers as well as traditional/specialized and online channels. The General Manager will coordinate Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR, and Logistic teams, while also driving continuous improvement and process optimization across subsidiary areas, including the launch of new product lines.
The position includes local implementation of a new ERP system, supported by Corporate IT, alongside responsibility for ongoing operational efficiency. The General Manager is expected to bring strong leadership and a hands-on approach to managing and developing the team. Key responsibilities typically include setting direction for commercial performance, aligning functions to deliver results, and ensuring effective execution of strategy through the sales and marketing organization.
Requirements include a university degree in Economics or an equivalent qualification, along with proven sales experience in the FMCG (preferably non-food) and retail sector with strong branded products. The client is seeking demonstrated experience as a General Manager or Commercial Director leading Sales and Marketing teams, including management of both international and local retailers, strong commercial understanding, and financial competence with a KPI-setting focus. The role requires proactive, practical leadership, excellent judgment and creative insights, an international mindset with the ability to collaborate within international groups, and fluency in Romanian and English; the position is based in the Bucharest area with travel expected across Romania and to group headquarters.
