Reporting to the Assistant Commissioner, Custodial Operations, the General Manager oversees the delivery of correctional services to ensure the safe custody, welfare, and rehabilitation of those in their care, in alignment with the policies and standards set by the Commissioner, Corrections Victoria.The General Manager plays a crucial role in leading and managing the correctional services provided, with a focus on achieving the best outcomes for individuals in custody. They are responsible for implementing the Commissioners Requirements, Deputy Commissioner Instructions, and Service Delivery Outcomes to guide the delivery of services within the facility. The General Manager works closely with the Assistant Commissioner and other stakeholders to uphold the values of professionalism, safety, and rehabilitation within the correctional facility, ultimately contributing to the overall goal of promoting a safe and just community in Victoria through effective correctional practices.
