the client is seeking a general manager to serve as the senior business and operational leader for its flagship West Coast campus in Napa Valley. The role is responsible for driving the campus’s strategic direction, commercial performance, and overall guest and community experience in close partnership with academic leadership. Reporting to the provost, the general manager oversees non-degree revenue growth, operational execution, and market positioning, while fostering an environment that supports students, faculty, staff, guests, and external partners.
Key responsibilities include leading the campus’s strategy, growth, and market positioning; overseeing day-to-day operations and financial performance, including events, partnerships, and guest experiences; and aligning operational priorities with the student experience and instructional goals through collaboration with academic leadership. The general manager will build and lead high-performing teams, elevate service standards to strengthen the campus’s reputation as a premier culinary destination, and cultivate industry and community partnerships. The role also works closely with a neighboring campus general manager on shared regional strategy and growth.
Candidates should be senior hospitality, experiential, or higher education leaders with strong operational and cross-functional experience, including a proven record driving P&L performance, revenue growth, and operational excellence in complex environments. The general manager should be strategic and entrepreneurial, with demonstrated commercial, financial, and partnership leadership capabilities, and be skilled at building effective teams and influencing diverse stakeholders in fast-paced settings. Preferred experience may include luxury hospitality, destination venues, property management, and entrepreneurial leadership, with success measured by leadership impact, guest and student experience, revenue growth, profitability, and overall campus positioning.
