Lead the launch and operational setup of the client’s new greenfield distribution facility as a core operations leadership role. This position will scope and help drive the start-up of warehouse operations, setting up safe, efficient, and well-organised processes that support inbound, internal, and outbound flow from day one.
Own daily warehouse operations, directing activities through warehouse management systems and ensuring movements occur only in line with system instructions. Oversee inbound processing including receipts, directed put-away, exception handling for damaged or short deliveries, and controls that ensure inventory is available for picking only after receipt and put-away are fully completed and posted. Maintain ownership of the warehouse location, zone, and bin structure in the system, optimize bin layouts and replenishment routines to reduce congestion and travel, and coordinate directed replenishment to support picking waves and despatch cut-off times.
Manage outbound fulfilment by controlling directed pick, pack, and ship processes, ensuring accuracy against system instructions and compliance with lot/serial tracking where applicable. Ensure packing and shipment confirmations align with physical dispatch, resolve exceptions through approved warehouse processes, and maintain real-time inventory accuracy through cycle counting and investigation of discrepancies. Provide operational system ownership for warehouse management usage, support continuous improvement initiatives across assembly/finishing stages to reduce defects and delays, and lead and develop warehouse supervisors and operatives with a strong focus on health and safety, training, performance, and disciplined execution of procedures.
