the client is seeking a General Counsel to support a growing health technology organization in a highly regulated environment. This role provides strategic legal guidance to leadership and board members on corporate governance, compliance, and other business-related legal matters. The General Counsel will serve as the primary point of contact for legal inquiries and issues across the organization.
The General Counsel will oversee and manage core legal functions, including contracts, employment, and compliance and risk. Responsibilities include ensuring adherence to applicable federal, state, and local regulations; drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a range of legal documents such as vendor agreements and employment contracts; advising on risk management strategies; and developing and implementing internal policies and procedures to support legal and regulatory compliance.
The successful candidate will have a Juris Doctor (JD) degree and a valid license to practice law. The role typically requires extensive knowledge of corporate law, compliance, and regulatory frameworks relevant to health technology or related industries, along with proven general counsel experience in a fast-paced, highly regulated direct-to-consumer setting. The client will also value strong analytical and problem-solving skills, exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, a proactive and detail-oriented approach, and prior experience building or designing legal departments may be beneficial.
