The client is seeking a full-time, exempt CCR instructor to lead assigned adult literacy classes in language arts, social studies, science, and math, supporting learners in preparing for the GED and other personal student goals. The role uses a standards-aligned curriculum and aligns instructional practice with agency priorities to provide high-quality teaching and support that promotes student learning and goal attainment. Instruction may be delivered in designated locations and/or through remote delivery.
Key responsibilities include teaching assigned classes, providing support and referrals to help students address barriers and transition needs, arranging for student assessment and evaluation, and creating standards-aligned lesson plans and related instructional materials while maintaining required documentation in a centrally accessible system. The instructor will also engage in professional development and ongoing training, collect and analyze student performance data (including attendance, assessment results, learning objectives, student feedback, and outcomes) to support state and federal compliance and continuous program improvement, and monitor progress to resolve issues that affect adherence to applicable requirements.
The instructor will participate in internal committees and teams and collaborate with external partnerships as appropriate, follow agency protocols for effective service delivery, and provide local and regional subject-matter guidance. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in education or a related field, with experience teaching adults preferred, along with strong interpersonal skills, the ability to build positive relationships with diverse colleagues and stakeholders, alignment with core organizational values, and demonstrated problem-solving ability and adaptability. Eligibility requirements include required clearances, and the work environment includes full-time duties with some evening work, local travel using a personal vehicle, and physical demands such as prolonged desk/computer work and the ability to lift, pull, and push up to 40 pounds.
