the client provides 360° search solutions for the global commodities markets and is supporting an expansion into derivatives brokerage. The client is seeking a Fuel Oil Broker–Desk Head to join their team in Singapore, with responsibility for leading the fuel oil brokerage desk and driving business growth in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Key responsibilities include building, leading, and managing the fuel oil brokerage desk by setting strategy and executing plans to increase revenue. The role will originate and execute trades across fuel oil products while maintaining strong relationships with relevant counterparties, such as trading houses, oil majors, and shipping firms. It also includes recruiting, developing, and mentoring brokers, monitoring market trends and client activity to identify commercial opportunities, and ensuring all trading and broking activity complies with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications include at least 5–7 years of experience in broking or trading fuel oil products, along with a strong track record of deal execution. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the fuel oil market, including regional dynamics and pricing structures, and will be expected to bring established commercial relationships in derivatives markets. Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills are required, with the ability to manage a team and operate effectively in a dynamic market.
