Description

A client is seeking a seasoned Fractional IT Director to design, implement, and document its IT and security infrastructure from the ground up. This role will partner with executive leadership to establish the company’s technology foundation, implement security best practices, and recruit, hire, train, and mentor an IT Manager who is expected to take ownership of day-to-day operations after the initial build phase. The engagement is contract-based with on-site presence as needed in West Hollywood, CA.

Key responsibilities include establishing identity and access management programs (including SSO, MFA, and role-based permissions), implementing endpoint protection and device management policies, and building secure employee and freelance onboarding and offboarding workflows for provisioning and access. The role will also architect cloud, network, and storage environments that support corporate operations, production teams, studios, and remote employees, including secure systems for managing large media files, content storage, asset tracking, local servers, and production equipment.

The IT Director will develop security policies, incident response plans, disaster recovery procedures, and business continuity strategies to protect company data and intellectual property. Additional responsibilities include designing content security controls and workflows for production and post-production teams handling unreleased and sensitive assets, evaluating and managing technology vendors and infrastructure partners, and creating comprehensive documentation, operational runbooks, and long-term technology roadmaps to support future growth. The role typically requires 10+ years of IT leadership experience at a senior level (e.g., Director/Head of IT/CIO/CISO scope), strong expertise across cloud infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, identity management, and endpoint management, and the ability to communicate technical concepts to executive stakeholders and mentor junior talent; relevant media/entertainment production experience and familiarity with content security standards may be preferred, and related industry certifications may be advantageous.
