Description

the client seeks a visionary and dynamic physician-scientist to serve as Founding Director of an Interdisciplinary Center for Precision Medicine. In this faculty-appointed role, the founding director will lead the strategic development, implementation, and expansion of precision medicine initiatives across clinical care, translational research, and education, integrating genomics, data science, and translational approaches to advance personalized healthcare.

Key responsibilities include providing multidisciplinary leadership and strategy by developing and executing a precision medicine program aligned with institutional goals, and representing the organization as a thought leader nationally and internationally. The role will oversee the integration of genomic tools and precision diagnostics into clinical workflows, provide direct patient care in areas such as genetic counseling, neurogenetics, oncology, and metabolic disorders, and collaborate with clinical departments to establish service lines such as molecular tumor boards and pharmacogenomics clinics. It will also ensure genomic data integration into the electronic health record with appropriate clinical decision support.

The founding director will lead translational and clinical research initiatives spanning genetics, genomics, multi-omics, and data-driven medicine, promote investigator-initiated studies, and support clinical trials and collaborative research. Responsibilities include securing extramural funding through grants and partnerships, developing and delivering educational programs for trainees and faculty, mentoring junior investigators, and integrating precision medicine into training curricula. The role will support program growth through infrastructure development, compliance with regulatory and ethical requirements for privacy, cross-disciplinary collaboration and community engagement to promote equitable access, and grant writing and fundraising efforts, while contributing to faculty recruitment, staff development, and long-term scalability.
