The client is seeking a Finance Executive / Controller with operational experience in the Direct Sales (multi-level marketing) industry and a proven track record of creative problem-solving and change management. This role supports the development of the client’s financial management strategy and involves continuous monitoring of the organization’s financial affairs in a high-growth, mission-driven environment.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and VP of Finance, the Controller will advise senior leadership on financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, investment priorities, and policy matters. Key responsibilities include overseeing and executing financial reporting and accounting procedures, evaluating and improving financial policies and procedures, and ensuring proper processing of Direct Sales compensation plan payments. The Controller will also be expected to maintain legal compliance across finance operations.
Requirements include a Business or Accounting degree as a mandatory qualification, with an MBA and CPA being preferred. The role typically expects a minimum of five years in a senior finance management position within a high-growth Direct Sales (MLM) organization, along with experience in Direct Sales compensation plan payments and structure. Additional qualifications include familiarity with nonprofit finance and accounting regulations, strong analytical and communication/presentation skills, demonstrated leadership, and experience working with international pay-in and payout providers, as well as relationships with banks.
