The client seeks a Financial Controller to supervise bookkeeping and core accounting activities. The role focuses on preparing periodic financial reporting and cash flow analysis, and providing on-demand financial insights to support decision-making. The position will coordinate with an external CPA firm to support quarterly and year-end closings.
Responsibilities include controlling sales and marketing-related financial processes, such as reviewing sales by client and product line, managing client deals and allowances, approving invoices, purchase orders, expense reports, and supervising pricing approvals and implementation. The controller will support profitability analysis for launches, advertising, and promotions, oversee cost of goods, and validate invoicing and net sales inputs by collaborating with area managers to confirm sell-in forecasts and report accordingly to European headquarters.
The controller is expected to produce monthly units and value analysis, track top clients and products, and compile travel-related reporting as applicable, while also validating marketing-related sales forecast valorization. Additional duties include ensuring advertising and promotion expense controls are followed, supporting profit and loss management through a financial plan, budget, and trend analysis, and performing accounting close activities such as reviewing profit and loss, making accurate accruals, ensuring capitalized projects are provided for depreciation, and maintaining internal control procedures and best practices. Ideal qualifications include experience in a similar finance/accounting role, strong US accounting understanding, advanced Excel skills, strong working knowledge of office tools such as PowerPoint and Word, a background in business administration or economics/accountancy (with additional professional accounting qualification being a plus), and prior exposure to consumer, luxury, or related goods environments may be preferred.
