The client is seeking a finance-focused Treasurer and Volunteer Board Director to join its Board of Directors. This is a governance role rather than an executive finance position, supporting The client’s strategic priorities and mission to foster effective partnership between business and the arts. As a board member, you will provide independent oversight, challenge and strategic advice, and practical expertise on specific issues as needed.
As Treasurer, you will strengthen The client’s financial governance by working with the CEO, relevant governance and finance committees, and external accountants and auditors. You will help the Board interpret financial information, assess risk, and make well-informed decisions, including reviewing management accounts, forecasts, and cash flow and ensuring the Board receives accurate and structured financial reporting. You will also monitor financial risk and sustainability and provide constructive insights to support organizational decision-making.
Core responsibilities include advising on budgets, proposing robust financial plans, and participating in discussions to shape and sustain overall strategy. You will support long-term financial resilience and help guide financial oversight and planning with integrity and confidence. The role is voluntary with an estimated time commitment of about six hours per month to prepare for and attend meetings, and it is expected that you will be committed to the arts and able to communicate complex financial information to a diverse board audience.
